With more growth anticipated in the near future, we have officially launched a formal search for a Vice President, Operations. This role will oversee all daily operations of the company, provide support and guidance to Berto’s President and work alongside the extended Leadership Team to assist in the development of new business opportunities to take the company into the future.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:

  1. Working with the President to set and drive the organizational vision and mission, corporate strategy and related hiring requirements.
  2. Developing actionable business strategies in alignment with quarterly and annual company objectives developed in tandem with the President
  3. Measuring and analyzing current revenue streams, offerings and relationships to optimize business growth and revenue strategy
  4. Implementing financial procedures and organizational policies and programs to drive the company’s operating capabilities to surpass the industry average
  5. Ensuring operational activities and project timelines remain on time and within defined budgets
  6. Overseeing data collection and tracking to achieve productivity targets, reduce costs, eliminate errors, and provide excellent customer service
  7. Developing, implementing and maintaining all quality assurance processes, customer experience reports and forecasting activities
  8. Regularly assessing and implementing improved processes and new technologies that would increase the efficiency of business procedures in line with the company’s objectives
  9. Actively pursuing and managing industry contacts, prospective clients, and vendors
  10. Maintaining constant communication with the Leadership team, staff, and clients to ensure successful operations of the company
  11. Leading, motivating and mentoring all employees within a time-sensitive and demanding environment
  12. Assisting in the development and enforcement of safety standards, policies, and procedures

Candidates Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business administration, economics, finance or related field
  2. 8+ years of proven senior management experience in small to medium sized businesses
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  4. Ability to motivate, organize and respond to employee of varying areas of expertise
  5. Strong organizational and time-management skills
  6. Working knowledge of telecommunications and/or cable construction
  7. Excellent business and budget-planning skills
  8. Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities, strong leadership skills and ability to adapt to changing environments
  9. Highly trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes
  10. Excellent analytical and planning skills
  11. Ability to work as an independent contributor and as part of a team
  12. Prior experience with Project Management software, an asset

Successful Candidates Reporting Structure:

The VP of Operations will report directly to the President and is a direct supervisor to Managers and Superintendents
