Community Initiatives

As a family company, our community is important to us.

During the workday, we keep ourselves busy constructing and maintaining the infrastructure that keeps communities connected, but even outside of work, we continue to look for ways to give back.

We are a proud employer of summer workers, giving area youth an opportunity to gain experience and field training in the telecommunications industry. We also take any opportunity to source work locally when possible.

Berto has volunteered for and donated to a number of fundraisers including A4K (Athletics for Kids) and the Children’s Hospital Foundation. We are also a proud sponsor of the annual TELUS Hockey Tournament in Kelowna, Mario Gill Motorsports, and Ruben's Shoes.

Environmental Consciousness

At Berto, environmental protection is more than just a matter of meeting the requirements of provincial and federal environmental standards..

For us, environmental excellence means embracing environmental consciousness. That means adhering to all applicable regulations, but also maintaining a respectful awareness of the habitats and ecosystems those regulations were instituted to protect.

We take care to minimize the environmental impact of our projects and are experienced at accommodating nearby sensitive areas. For example, in our 2018 Cultus Lake civil build, we consulted with an environmental assessment team to determine an appropriate plan of action that helped reduce habitat disruption. We don’t just talk about the environment; we take proactive steps to help keep it safe.
